I needed a chapeau that shades my brow outside because I wear progressives with clip-on sunglasses so I wanted to diminish distraction from the glare off a pair of surfaces. This linen cap is cooler than a baseball cap where I live with the thermometer already busting triple digits heading into June. I have a nice panama but I'd rather save it for special occasions--compare the costs. Good buy!
